Freightliner Trucks rolled out their long anticipated rack and pinion steering package last year. Mike Ryan's Freightliner Cascadia Race Truck was the inspiration for development of this new technology. Being the first in the industry to offer this specifically for trucks, the system offers increased control and responsiveness.  It’s lighter and there are fewer moving parts than steering systems used in heavy duty trucks.
